All reports from Melbourne indicate that training is going excellently for Beth! She has been preparing well for prelims on Wednesday.
"In rotation 3 Tweddle and Lepennec performed, one after another, two superb routines on A. Bars out of 10 points - a promise for a great Final, should the two of them go smoothly through the Qualifications.
Tweddle was strong and steady also on Floor and Beam and seems a potential threat not only for the A. Bars, but also for the All-around. " FROM BAGA
BAGA have also got a video file of Beth training on vault - performing a clean and tidy Yurchenko with 1.5 twists. Some new artciles have been added and we hope to have some photos up from Melbourne very soon.

Beth Makes British History...Again!
It's becoming a habit for Beth, breaking records! Last night she broke one of the most exciting yet and won the first ever medal at a World Championships for British women's gymnastics! With the difficult task of being up first on bars, Beth produced her usual precise and crisp routine for a 9.512 and had to wait to see where she would place. Gymnast after gymnast could not over take her until the very end when the two Americans, Hollie Vise and Chellsie Memmel tied for the gold, securing Beth yet another place in British sporting history, and a very special bronze medal! Congratulations Beth, we are so SO proud of you!!
Watch her routine here!!
Here's what the media had to say about Beth's performance:
giant full, Gienger; giant 1-1/2, Ono, Healy, pirouette overshoot hand; toe hecht to high; Markelov; tucked full-out dismount (with pointed toes), stuck ... great routine for Tweddle! from Inside Gymnastics
giant full Gienger. Giant blind to full pirouette to Ono. Blind change to Markelov. Stuck full-out ... Beth Tweddle wins the first-ever world championship medal for a British woman!

Beth takes third national title in the most dramatic style
Last night Beth had one of the most dramatic competitions in British history to take her third national title in a row.
Beth started on beam rather tentatively and then moved to floor where she showcased a new routine, full of expression and dance which really suited her. Then to vault where she performed her podkopayeva but instantly pulled up her ankle on impact and hopped off the mat, in floods of tears. After much ice, tears and tape to a very swollen ankle, Beth then went to the back of the hall, where many assumed she would pull out - and who could blame her. However, Beth then came out with her hand guards on and performed her usual bar routine only with a toe on mount rather than her normal hecht. 9.475 and her third consecutive title was hers. Beth showed true fighting spirit last night and we couldn't be more proud of her!!
July 6th 2003
Beth had a brilliant competition today to win gold on bars, ahead of silver medallist Natalia Ziganshina and joint bronze Polina Miller and Svetlana Khorkina. Performing to huge cheers from the crowd, Beth put in a great routine for 9.525. She also competed in the beam final but due to C rated dismount, she was unable to score higher than 9.05 for joint 4th place with team mate Becky Mason and a trio of Russian medallists. Yesterday during the team competition Beth competed only bars and beam to rest her foot ready for the British Championships next weekend. However, she put in two great scores and helped the team to second place behind the talented Russians.
