SILVER ON FLOOR FOR BETH!
Congrats to Beth who finished 2nd on floor behind World and European AA champ Vanessa Ferarri this afternoon at the RAI Sport Arena in Amsterdam. This was Beth's only final at the European Championships as she's still resting her shoulder after surgery earlier this year. It's her highest place finish in such a prestigious floor final! Well done, Beth, and also congratulations to Britain's Daniel Keating for also winning silver, on pommel horse.

Birthday-girl Beth helped Liverpool to the silver medal at yesterday's British Team Championships. Competing on just floor and beam to give her shoulder chance to heal, Beth tried out some new moves. On beam she competed a standing arabian and landed it during warm ups but fell in the competition. On floor Beth has re-introduced a triple twist. During the medal ceremony Beth was honoured for her bronze on bars at the 2005 World Championships and gold on bars at the 2006 European Championships.

After starting strongly on vault, Beth came to grief on her strongest event, bars. She missed the re-catch on her Ray release and fell. However, she regained composure, finished the routine. Her beam was good, and she finished in style with an excellent floor routine. Beth finished in 8th place, and will compete again tomorrow in the bars final, GOOD LUCK BETH!

Beth has now returned home from Australia and is recovering well from the ankle injury that kept her out of the games. In two weeks time Liverpool will be defending their title at the British Team Championships but it is yet unknown as to whether or not Beth will be ready to compete before then. She is in good spirits and will be healthy by the time the European Championships come around in May. Despite not competing in the team final in Melbourne, Beth still received a silver medal along with the rest of the English girls as she was officially named to the team - which was a nice touch. Photos and articles from Melbourne will be coming really soon.
