3 July 2015Beth to open new dance studios

Professional gymnast and three time world champion Beth Tweddle will open brand new dance studios in North Hykeham.

The doors of One NK Dance Studios will be thrown open officially on Thursday, July 9.

After the opening at 4pm, Ms Tweddle will then visit North Kesteven School for its Sports Presentation Evening.

There, she will give a speech to students to help inspire them in their sports.

The retired British artistic gymnast is the most successful British gymnast in the history of the sport.

She is an Olympic Bronze Medalist, a triple World Champion, a six-time European Champion, a Commonwealth Champion and seven-times consecutive National Champion.

Ms Tweddle has competed at the Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic games - where she won Bronze for competing on the uneven bars.

In 2010, Beth was named in the Queen's New Years Honours List.

She received an MBE for her success and dedication to her sport.

Ms Tweddle took a break from competing, and instead took part in ITV's Dancing on Ice.

She won the 2013 series with skating partner Daniel Whiston.

Although she is now retired from competitive gymnastics.

It was set up between herself and fellow Olympian Steve Parry, to help give children the chance to take up gymnastics in schools, leisure centres and gymnastics clubs.
